P&P&Zombies movie… finally some solid information

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies- Craig Gillespie directing, David O Russell script

Apparently, Gillespie will be potentially asking Keira Knightley and Colin Firth to do cameos in PPZ.  His current intent is said to be to keep the love story between Elizabeth and Darcy as the platform for the film.

There will be “comic relief” he said. “It has such a great mix of humor and horror. I just love being able to juggle those two aspects. The humor is inherent in the ‘Pride and Prejudice’ side, but taking that and accenting it with zombies is just a brilliant and fun idea. And there are such strong female characters, which is nice to have. It’s a great clash.”

Interestingly, he has been said to be taking inspiration from Burton’s Sleepy Hollow with “gothic undertones”. As an advocate for all things Tim Burton (I went to the exhibition in Melbourne last year) I am giving this an almighty thumbs up.

Apparently, Natalie Portman (while no longer acting in the film) is still producing it through her production company handsomecharlie.  Also producing include: Annette Savitch, Richard Kelly, Sean McKittrick and Ted Hamm.

I know this is a brief update, but at least the film is back on track. I’m currently ploughing through the graphic novel of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, so expect a detailed review coming soon. So, are you with me in the mindset that they should JUST HURRY UP WITH MAKING THE FILM? Or do you have any other insights. Sharing is caring, lovelies.
